Join Margot Norton, Associate Curator, for a visit to the Brooklyn studio of Laurie Simmons. Since the mid-1970s, Simmons has staged scenes for her camera with dolls, ventriloquist dummies, and people to create photographs that address underlying issues of representation. She has been the recipient
of numerous awards, including the National Endowment for the Arts Grant, the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Distinguished Alumni Award at Temple University, and the Roy Lichtenstein Residency in Visual Arts at the American Academy in Rome, among others. RSVP to membership@newmuseum.org or 212.219.1222 ×234.
