The Invented Landscape
“…‘The Invented Landscape’ explores contemporary alternatives to the traditional landscape photograph.
“Rather than stressing the primacy of the natural scene, the work in the exhibition emphasizes the actions of the artist. It is a new, synthetic landscape that is presented, not a response to a pre-existing piece of nature. The exhibition presents a wide range of visual solutions to this problem, from highly manipulated prints incorporating drawing and hand-applied color, to unaltered images that are non-traditional only through their distortions of conceptual categories.” - from The New Museum Press Release
