First Saturdays for Families: Monumental Landscapes, 2018
Join us for a Family Day drawing inspiration from the exhibition “Mariana Castillo Deball: Finding Oneself Outside,” on view at the New Museum from January 22 to April 14, 2019. Often drawing from Mesoamerican iconography, Castillo Deball’s work considers the residual effects of early-colonial transformations in Central America today. Exploring Castillo Deball’s recent works in addition to the newly commissioned inlaid wood floor installation based on an early map of San Pedro Teozacoalco, Mexico, families will be encouraged to draw maps of their own.
New Museum First Saturdays for Families are free of charge. This program is designed and recommended for families with children aged between four and twelve years, and includes free New Museum admission for up to two adults per family. Children under eighteen are always admitted free. No preregistration is required. Space is limited, and tickets are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Your entire party must be present; tickets will not be given to partial parties.
