Join Lisa Phillips, Toby Devan Lewis Director, and Karen Wong, Deputy Director, for a very special day of architecture in New Canaan, CT, featuring a visit to the Glass House and the exclusive VIP grand opening of the spectacular SANAA-designed Grace Farms.

Our first stop will be the Glass House, a 1949 residence designed by Philip Johnson where the principles of modernism are distilled into a home of radical simplicity. We will enjoy a private tour of the site and a special greeting from Cole Akers, Curator and Special Projects Manager.

Then it’s on to celebrate the VIP grand opening of Grace Farms and its spectacular new building, the River Building, by Pritzker Prize–winning firm SANAA, architects of the New Museum. Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, Principals of SANAA, will greet us personally, and artists Thomas Demand, Teresita Fernández, Beatriz Milhazes, and Susan Philipsz will be present to discuss their new commissions for the site. We will enjoy small plates, locally sourced from the Hudson Valley by Blue Hill at Stone Barns, and experience an open rehearsal by the Paul Taylor Dance Company.

10:30 AM | Private tour of the Glass House
12 PM | Grace Farms gates open
3:15 PM | Opening events conclude; departure from Grace Farms
