Come together with fellow visitors for close looking and conversation focused on the art of “Faith Ringgold American People.” On this live, forty-five-minute Zoom tour, Teaching Fellow Sumeja Tulic will share exhibition artworks, exclusive digital content, and behind-the-scenes insights into the art of this American icon.

New Museum Teaching Fellow (2021–2022) Sumeja Tulic (b. 1985, Tripoli, Libya) is a writer and photographer living and working in New York City. She grew up in Libya and Bosnia and worked as a legal activist in post-war former Yugoslavia for a decade, then shifted her focus to restorative and generative visual and textual storytelling forms. She was a Magnum Foundation Human Rights and Photography fellow (2014) and is currently in the Whitney Independent Study Program. Her writing has appeared in the British Journal of Photography, Hyperallergic, Brooklyn Rail, and Degree Critical. Tulic holds an MFA in Writing and Criticism from the School of Visual Arts; an MA in Journalism from CUNY Graduate School of Journalism; and a BA in Law and an MA in Human Rights and Democracy from the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna.
