Bring your family to the New Museum on Saturday, November 19 to experience the radical thinkers, archival collections, and personal histories of “Theaster Gates: Young Lords and Their Traces.” Connect with each other as you dive into Gates’s world and participate in activities in the galleries and artmaking in the Sky Room.

Family Day is free of charge. This in-person program is designed for families with children between the ages of four and twelve, and includes free New Museum admission for two adults per group. Children under eighteen are always admitted free.

Space is limited and preregistration is encouraged. Registration is limited to six tickets. Your entire party must be present; tickets will not be given to partial parties. If registration is full, please note that we will welcome a small number of walk-ups.

The program will be presented onsite at the New Museum. Vaccination and masks are strongly recommended, but not required. Please review the New Museum’s COVID guidelines in advance of your visit.

The New Museum is wheelchair accessible; learn more about access services and amenities here. To request accommodations, please email or call 212.219.1222 ×235 at least three weeks in advance.

We strive to make our programs as accessible as possible. For full accessibility information, including services available by request, please click here.

Generous lead support is provided by the Keith Haring School, Teen, and Family Programs Fund.

New Museum school and youth programs are made possible, in part, by Con Edison, Bloomingdale’s, the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation, and by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

Endowment support is provided by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund; the Skadden, Arps Education Programs Fund; and the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fund for Education Programs at the New Museum.
