Join Gary Carrion-Murayari, Kraus Family Curator, for a visit to the studio of artist Fred Tomaselli. Tomaselli explores reality dislocation and the broken dreams of utopianism in colorful, complex works that incorporate painting, photo collage, newsprint, and unorthodox materials. His work has been shown in museums and galleries around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the New Museum, New York; the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art; Site Santa Fe; the Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh; the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin; the Rose Art Museum, Waltham, MA; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney; the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo; the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth; the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC; the Aspen Art Museum; and the Brooklyn Museum.
