Artist-designed seed packs from the Hudson Valley Seed Library
The Hudson Valley Seed Library preserves and grows New York seeds, keeping them out of the pockets of greedy corporations and in the dirty hands of caring gardeners.
We also celebrate seeds through art. Come by our booth to make your own seedy sculpture that can be grown anywhere. Even if you don’t have a garden, the possibilities are numerous: The city is full of accessible vacant lots, median strips, parks, front stoop gardens, and sidewalk dirt patches, all of which are underutilized resources that can be turned into useful green spaces for beauty, food, or natural habitat. We’ll make different seed bombs for different uses including free-forage food, phytoremediation, beneficial insect habitat, and block beautification.
Visit our pop-up Seed Library to get artist-designed seed packs, seedy t-shirts, and DIY seed-sculpture kits based on artists’ works. Sow local!
