Groundswell brings together artists, youths, and community organizations to use art as a tool for social change—for a more just and equitable world. Our “Scaffold Up!” collective impact model literally makes visible “invisible cities” through public art. Visitors to our booth will have the chance to win two “Scaffold Up!” pins. “History of Public Art” Families will compete in a public art–inspired scavenger hunt to solve clues to lead them to Groundswell murals in the neighborhood surrounding the New Museum. “Visual Literacy” symbols are all around us. Families will create their own symbols via collage or Groundswell’s mobile game.
