Shannon Plumb: The Window Series

Shannon Plumb’s series of six videos, “The Window Series” (2010–11), explores notions of voyeurism, intimacy, humor and silence in the context of a large city. Looking at a photograph of an apartment building in New York City, the artist began to imagine the different lives behind each of the individual windows, leading to an investigation of multiple imagined lives. Installed in two windows, this is the first time these works have been shown in exterior windows. Supported by Sara Story Design.
