Marjetica Potrč and her students from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg (HBFK) will host a lunch for festival-goers. Seated at a one-hundred-foot- long communal table alongside a modest assortment of breads, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables, they will discuss issues of affordable housing that affect New York City and Hamburg.
Questions the group will address include: Who owns property and who rents? Do you know your neighbors? Do they know who you are? Who benefits from minimum-wage jobs? Does segregation affect your city? Where will you move when your rent is raised? The goal of the discussions is to highlight personal voices reflecting on the pressing issue of affordable housing in New York.
Supported by HFBK Hamburg (University of Fine Arts of Hamburg) and Embassy of The Republic of Slovenia in Washington, D.C.
