The Sketchbook Project is a collection of over twenty-six thousand handmade sketchbooks by over seventy thousand creative people from around the globe. We encourage people from diverse backgrounds to share their process with each other and the creative community.
Participants sign up in person or online to receive a blank sketchbook, then fill it with their most amazing, inspired ideas and mail it back to us. Each year we take portions of this unique collection and assemble an interactive, cross-country art exhibition in our Mobile Library, a custom-fitted trailer designed to take the collection on tour. We house the Sketchbook Project and all our projects in the Brooklyn Art Library, our reference library and storefront in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
