Waste Reduction and Resource Awareness with GrowNYC

GrowNYC’s Office of Recycling Outreach and Education works to increase participation in New York City’s curbside recycling program using a grassroots, community-by-community strategy. GrowNYC staff will be on hand to test your recycling skills and help you get answers about recycling and composting in New York City.

Over 3,500 events hit the New York City streets every year, resulting in dumpsters full of bottles, cups, fliers, food scraps, pallets, and giveaways. Events can create a LOT of waste, but they also provide an opportunity for New Yorkers to learn conservation-oriented practices and to positively impact public health at home, in the workplace, and during leisure time. Our free services help reduce the environmental footprint of New York City street festivals and public events through waste reduction and recycling.
