This free tour for educators will be held in person at the New Museum.

Educators are invited to an intimate tour of the 2021 Triennial, “Soft Water Hard Stone,” featuring artworks by forty artists from around the world who are re-envisioning traditional models, materials, and techniques beyond established paradigms.

Tours will be led by New Museum educators who will facilitate inquiry-based methods that support close observation and critical thinking to engage material, creative, historical, and social connections to the Triennial’s themes of transformation.

Capacity is limited and RSVP is required. If you cannot attend this session, we invite you to join the previous tour, which will be held on November 18.

Proof of vaccination is required for Museum staff and visitors in compliance with local ordinances, and masks must be worn by all staff and visitors. Please review the New Museum visitor guidelines before attending this program.

Generous lead support is provided by the Keith Haring School, Teen, and Family Programs Fund.

New Museum school and youth programs are made possible, in part, by Con Edison, Bloomingdale’s, the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation, and by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

Endowment support is provided by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund; the Skadden, Arps Education Programs Fund; and the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fund for Education Programs at the New Museum.

Additional endowment support is provided by the JPMorgan Chase Professional Development Workshop Program for Teachers.
