Part of the Street Program
Fourth Arts Block (FABnyc) will celebrate Lower East Side History Month at IDEAS CITY through a variety of creative exchanges. We will utilize our unique network of artists to explore our neighborhood, revealing stories and sounds that are otherwise unheard in the city. Throughout the day, visitors will be invited to type up their recollections of the Lower East Side in Typewritten Tales. Texts will be displayed on clotheslines and activated through readings and performances at three scheduled times. Twice during the Festival, an artist-led Sound Walk will take blindfolded participants through the city streets, tuning in to the often-overlooked sounds of the city.
FABnyc Sound Walk tours will be leaving from the FABnyc tent on Bowery between Houston + Stanton Street at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
