A Costume Recycling Event

In an effort to preserve our Untapped Capital, HOWL!, in conjunction with the Downtown Costume Institute, will collect and gather unused costumes and costume materials—feathers, beads, fabric, wigs, stage makeup—from our creative community for free distribution to East Village performers and ensembles. This creative recycling will give a second (or third) life to costume pieces that the original performers or costumers don’t have room to store. The Jackie Factory—who frequently collaborates with HOWL! and maintains the DCI costume collection—will spearhead the drive and will stage a one-day costume giveaway.
Visit us at the HOWL! booth at StreetFest on Saturday May 4 and attend our costume distribution event from 2 to 5 p.m on Sunday May 5 at the Bowery Poetry Club.
