Art in Odd Places (AiOP) democratizes the art experience by taking it to the streets and engaging audiences that might not normally seek art. We empower residents and other members of the community to appropriate their public spaces as community hubs. For IDEAS CITY, AiOP will present a selection of projects from its upcoming “RECALL,” a survey of ten years of AiOP artworks curated by Kendal Henry and Sara Reisman. Ten visual and performance art interventions will be performed throughout the Festival area. Additional programing will include a panel on public art interventions and a curatorial tour of projects. “RECALL” will transform the Festival’s public places into a civic space where people are re-sensitized to their environment through creative interventions and personal engagement.
