The POEMobile: Quechua Poetry & Projections

New York City has become a home to Quechua, the most widely spoken indigenous language in Latin America, which has approximately ten million speakers. Poets Doris Loayza (Peru) and Inti Jimbo (Ecuador), along with the Andean music group Inkarayku, will perform poetry and music in the Quechua language. The POEMobile will project a tribute and a call to action to preserve the planet’s linguistic diversity.

Participating Organizations: Bowery Arts + Science, Ministry of Endangered Language, Urban Word
