The City of New York’s Department of Design and Construction manages much of the City’s capital program
New York City’s Department of Design and Construction will present a walking tour of projects the city has built in the Bowery neighborhood. As you learn about the resources of the surrounding neighborhood, a new map of the area emerges—one informed by the civic values expressed in the built environment.
Project architects and engineers will discuss both the robustly analog issues of solving construction challenges in this area, as well as the more abstract ones surrounding the expressions civil society as reflected in these buildings, streets, and plazas.
