Youth Mural on the Bowery
Teens from the New Museum’s G:Class program, Chinatown YMCA, and University Settlement have been working with Groundswell teaching artists to create a 250-square-foot mural at 273 Bowery around the theme Untapped Capital. The program for teens includes design workshops focused on helping the mural team generate ideas and images, community presentations, art skill-building workshops, and special opportunities to work with other IDEAS CITY partners like the Art Production Fund. On Saturday May 4, teens and Groundswell teaching artists will meet for an inaugural painting day with opportunities for community interaction.
