The frequently untapped creative resource of day-to-day activities offers an openness and flexibility of play that fosters improvisation and innovative solutions. Collaborative play boosts our communities and promotes individual connections.
In “Sustainable Play,” participants will be invited to tap into their “inner child” and explore alternative methods of physical problem solving. Ultimately, participants will collaborate in creating large-scale, temporary node-based structures out of underutilized sustainable materials such as bamboo and recycled soft goods. These structures can be readily altered or dismantled by subsequent participants, and will serve as a scaled organic growth demonstration as well as a playful self-organizing system. The development of “Sustainable Play” will be recorded over the course of the event.
