The Sketchbook Project Mobile Library, Los Angeles, 2014
Part of the Street Program
The Sketchbook Project Mobile Library will share a crowdsourced library of sketchbooks. Viewing books will be free and open to the public. The entire collection will be catalogued and searchable not only by criteria like the artist’s name, city, and country of origin, but also by tag words, subjects, materials, and themes. Viewing books provide connections to strangers—you might see a book by a fifth grader from Brooklyn or a professional illustrator in Paris. These works are not what you might view in a museum or gallery, and they give you access to the invisible creative voices of our city and beyond.
