Rendering of the future Lowline Park
Right in the heart of the Lower East Side lies a trolley terminal that has been abandoned for over sixty years. The Lowline seeks to transform the historic space into the world’s first underground park, utilizing innovative solar technology to channel sunlight underground. Lowline team members will answer questions about the project and striking visuals will be on display. A tour in partnership with Municipal Arts Society and Artists Alliance will depart from this location, guiding people through the architectural history of the neighborhood and its exciting future. The tour will end at Delancey Plaza for An Afternoon Above the Lowline.
